The Halkey automatic system activates when the bobbin comes into contact with water. The inside of the bobbin dissolves, allowing the mechanism to strike the CO2 cartridge. The gas then flows into the valve and inflates the life jacket.


This automatic system is complemented by a manual trigger that can be activated by pulling the handle.
